Camping and Glamping

Some ‘Revolutionary’ new concepts apply to this year’s FloydFest camping scene! For starters, in an effort to maintain and preserve FloydFest’s boutique appeal, both ticket quotas and campsites have been reduced. In 2014 you must have an onsite Tent Tag to camp on the FloydFest grounds. Onsite Tent Tags are a separate ticket, and *every tent or tent-like sleeping structure must have one of these plastic laminate tags affixed to the main entrance.* These separate onsite Tent Tag tickets guarantee a camping site on the FloydFest periphery. There are both wooded and open spaces, all available on a first-come first-served basis.  Our quota of onsite Tent Tags will be available only to 3, 4, and 5-day ticket purchasers. We do have camping (and Glamping!) options, both on and offsite, to suit every woodsy palette- peruse our ‘menu’ of options below. For more details about onsite camping, click here for CAMPING FAQs.

A man’s campsite is his castle! And every man (and woman, of course!) is entitled to a reasonable amount of comfortable camping space to temporarily call “home.” We have carefully measured and gridded our available onsite real estate, and ‘leveled the playing field’ by offering a pre-determined number of available spaces for sale. Your onsite Tent Tag assures you of easy-access to an available campsite upon arrival, which, depending on your admission-ticket type, can now be as early as noon on Wednesday, July 23rd! Remember, camping at FloydFest is ‘primitive’- there is potable water, free drinking water, privy’s and other essentials, but no ground is quite level, and there *will be trees* within your 15’x15’ footprint that you will need to work around. Important: 1 onsite Tent Tag = 1 tent. ANY number of additional tents, (even within your allotted boundaries), must have an additional onsite Tent Tag. The onsite Tent Tag ticket option is only available to 5, 4, and 3-day general admission ticket purchasers and only (1) onsite Tent Tag per purchase.

Note: Not valid for admission. You must have a regular admission ticket along with the onsite Tent Tag ticket to access the event site. All tents and tent-like structures *must fit neatly within the space provided.*

Within the mountain topography of FloydFest’s 80 acres, there is one perfectly flat patch of centrally-located woods, conveniently adjacent to the Pink Floyd Beer and Wine Garden, and a short walk from everything. This color-coded onsite Tent Tag buys a spacious 15’x15’ primo camping space.

FloydFest offers reserved ADA camping spaces in our field and periphery camping. If you require an ADA onsite Tent Tag, please call our office at 888-VA-FESTS ext. 1 to purchase and reserve. ADA camping areas are serviced with complimentary golf cart shuttle service, and offer access to a staffed ‘ADA-Info’ tent, and nearby port-o’-lets.

The equivalent of a ‘Private Reserve’ this 20-spot niche campground was created by and for V-Dub Lovers, and is only available for purchase by those parking-and-camping with a Volkswagen Van. For five-day ticket holders, V-Dub camping opens at noon on Wednesday, and offers ride-in park-and camp spaces in the Global Village area. This ticket is for VOLKSWAGEN VANS (of any sort) ONLY. You must be driving or riding in a Volkswagen to enter the festival site with this ticket.

dancin-daves Dancin’ Dave’s is happy to announce that we will be returning for our 12th year at Floyd! Our tidy little village will be located down the hill next to the Show Sherpa. There is a slight hill, but rest assured that your cot will be level and you won’t be rolling anywhere in your sleep! Because of our late inclusion, patrons choosing this option must also purchase an onsite Tent Tag.  In 2015 the onsite Tent Tag will be bundled into the Dancin’ Dave’s package

Located just minutes from our festival site. Bravo Lot is a lovely, flat, partially wooded acreage where you can set up camp.  There will be a potable water tank for cooking, tooth brushing, etc.  Showers and porto’ johns will also be available to park-and-campers.  Bottled drinking water, ice, and much more will be available for sale at the Bravo/Delta Lot Camp Store.   Unfortunately because of the likelihood of burn bans, we don’t allow campfires (charcoal and propane cook stoves are OK).  That said… there will be a centrally located community bonfire!

The ‘Delta Lot,’ a 10-minute shuttle ride from the event site, is a lovely, flat, partially wooded acreage where you can set up a comparatively sprawling camp within 20’x40’ marked spaces. Our powered RV spaces allot for one 20-amp GFI receptacle per purchaser. (Note: If your RV is equipped with anything other than a standard plug-in you will need to bring an adapter.) The Delta Lot is ‘satellite central’ – a hub of offsite camping community, complete with fire circle, impromptu musical jams, and camp host Mike Helms- who will one day have his face on a T-shirt :)

The Delta Lot ‘Unplugged’ option offers all the same amenities as the plugged version, sans electricity with a space size of 20’x30’. All Delta lot purchasers are invited to arrive as early as 9am Wednesday, and enjoy a couple of relaxing days in our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. (Note: Delta lot opens at 9 am on Wednesday for set-up convenience, shuttles will only run and the box office will only process 5-day ticket-holders on that day.)
